Tichu Endgame Strategy
The final turns decide points and momentum. Endgame play is about controlling the lead, managing risk, and protecting your team’s scoring position.
Protect the Lead
If your partner is close to going out, prioritize plays that keep them in control. Use the Dog or low-risk combinations to hand over the lead without giving opponents a chance to reset.
Manage Point Cards
Avoid taking tricks with point cards late unless it is necessary. If you must win, try to capture points on low-risk tricks and avoid winning with the Dragon unless it helps you exit.
Choose the Right Finish Order
Sometimes it is better for you to go out second than first, especially if your partner has called Tichu. Plan who should finish in what order to maximize team points.
