Card Passing Strategy

The three-card exchange happens before every round and often decides the outcome. Smart passing strengthens your partner and disrupts your opponents.

Passing to Your Partner

Prioritize cards that fit your partner’s likely needs: a high single, the missing piece of a straight, or a card that completes a bomb. The Dog is excellent when your partner can lead and you cannot.

Passing to Opponents

Give awkward, mid-range singles that do not help make pairs or straights. Avoid gifting a 5, 10, or King unless it breaks a dangerous combo in their hand.

Reading What You Receive

Cards you receive hint at your partner’s plan. A high card suggests they want you to hold lead; a connecting card suggests they see a long combination. Use that info to coordinate your play.
